Step -by -Step Guide to Obtaining Saudi Premium Residency

As of January 2024, Saudi Arabia has added five new products to its Premium Residency program. This move aims to attract more foreign talents, diversify the economy, generate job opportunities, and facilitate knowledge transfer. In this blog, we are throwing the light on obtaining Premium Residency, covering aspects such as lifestyle, culture, and practical tips for a smooth transition.

 

Obtaining Saudi Premium Residency Steps

1.Registration and required documents submission

  • Ensure that your passport is valid for at least one hundred and eighty (180) days.
  • Any passport holder may apply for specific residency product through the Center’s electronic portal (https://pr.gov.sa).
  •  Follow the steps indicated on the portal, including creating an electronic account, and provide all information and the supporting documents in Arabic or English, unless it is “optional”. 
  • You could provide supplementary information to support and expedite the Center’s processing of the application. A processing fee of one hundred and seventy (170) US dollars will be charged during this phase.
  • If the application is filed from inside the Kingdom, the applicant shall have a legal residency permit.
  • An applicant may appoint an agent to submit the application on his behalf in accordance with legal procedures.

 

2.Application review

An account manager shall be appointed for the applicant to perform the following tasks:

  • Verifying that the applicant satisfies the general conditions and requirements for applying for the premium residency permit.
  • Verifying that the applicant satisfies the special conditions and requirements for applying for the specific residency product.
  • Requesting a reference letter from the employer or the regulatory entities.
  • Communicating with the applicant to inquire about any of the information or documents provided thereby.
  • Requesting any other relevant documents.
  • Following up on the application until it is completed.

The Center may reject an application upon the lapse of sixty (60) days from the date.

The applicant is requested to provide clarification on any of the information or documents submitted, or in the event of any discrepancy therein, or if the applicant fails to meet the general conditions and requirements of premium residency permit applications or special conditions and requirements for applying for the specific residency product.

The applicant will receive notification of the rejection decision through any of the contact means provided in his/her electronic account.

 

3.Application approval

After the Center verifies the applicant has met all the conditions and requirements for obtaining the specific residency product and approves the application, the applicant will receive notification of the approval decision through any of the contact means provided in his/her electronic account. Within thirty (30) days of receiving the notification of approval, the applicant is obligated to:

  • Pay the residency product fee. It should be noted that there are differences in the fee for each residency product.
  • Provide a medical insurance policy for him/herself and his/her family members in accordance with the Cooperative Health Insurance Law and its Implementing Regulations.

Once all the requirements are met, premium residency permit cards will be issued and delivered to the holder and his/her family members.
